ABOUT US

acknowledge. is a farm and an ethos. Our hemp farm is rooted in regenerative practices for the land, people and industry. A woman-led, East Coast company, our goal is to support the body as an ecosystem in the same way as our land. Our organic and regenerative farm is situated in Maryland’s Pleasant Valley, land shaped by many hands—from the Piscataway and Massawomeck indigenous tribes to subsequent enslaved peoples, Mennonite settlers, and multi-generational family farms. We acknowledge their labor and honor their legacy by adhering to practices rooted in traditional wisdom and a sacred connection for those who work it, providing plant-based health and wellness solutions for all.

Stefanie Reiser is the founder and CEO of acknowledge. A serial entrepreneur and change maker, Reiser has been consulting and founding successful businesses since 1993. In 2014, she founded Align Development LLC, a boutique development company with several built residential projects. Align Development also serves as the platform through which Reiser conceives and develops radically transformative ideas, and the projects that bring those to fruition. The Washington Business Journal recognized Reiser with the “Women Who Mean Business” award in 2016. More recently in 2019, Reiser founded The Nicholson Project, a paid artist residency program and community hub in Southeast DC. A past member of Mavericks 1000, and a current member of Cadre, Reiser believes in the power of human potential. A longtime student and policy wonk at the intersection of food, the environment, social equity, the arts, and community development, Reiser now devotes her considerable energy and focus to regenerative farming in Western Maryland’s Pleasant Valley.
