General

  • What is CBD?

Cannabidol (CBD) is the main cannabinoid found in hemp plants. Cannabinoids are a large group of biologically available chemical compounds produced by the plant. CBD is a non-psychoactive compound that can be harnessed to address a variety of different needs including managing stress, encouraging restful sleep, and supporting healthy joint and muscle function.

  • What is the difference between CBD and hemp extracts?

Hemp extract (or hemp oil) is extracted from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the hemp plant. Hemp extracts contain significant amounts of CBD, as this is the main compound found in hemp. But CBD is not the only beneficial compound the hemp plant has to offer. Acknowledge only crafts full-spectrum hemp extracts which means that in addition to CBD our products also contain all the other beneficial compounds available in the plant, including other cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and healthy fats.

  • How will it make me feel?

Everybody is unique, so people have different experiences when taking CBD and you will likely feel different when using different strains and potencies. Most people say that they feel relaxed, get relief, or are energized by using our products.

  • How does it work?

The active compounds in hemp interact with your endocannabinoid system by binding to cannabinoid receptors on the surface of cells. This system regulates things like mood, appetite, and sleep. Different cannabinoids work with your endocannabinoid system to produce different effects.

  • Do Acknowledge products contain THC?

Yes. All of our products are full-spectrum,  which means that they contain all of the cannabinoids available in our hemp plants.  This includes Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC). Research argues that full-spectrum formulations are the most effective which is why we keep THC in our products.  However, all of our products are federally compliant which means they contain less than 0.3% THC. This means that they won’t get you high.

  • Will Acknowledge products get me high?

Because the amount of THC in Acknowledge products is in the low- and micro-dose range, this means our products won’t get you high, even for those more sensitive to THC. All Acknowledge products are federally compliant, which means they contain less than 0.3% THC by weight. Additionally, all Acknowledge products clearly indicate the mgs of THC in the product per serving. Most customers do not feel the effect of THC in our products. However, depending on any individual’s sensitivity and tolerance to THC, as well as the amount or number of servings taken, some individuals may recognize the presence of THC. If you have any concerns about feeling the effects of THC, we recommend starting with low doses and gradually increasing your dose to the desired effect.

  • Will I fail a drug test?

In the same way that eating poppy seeds can lead to a positive drug test for opioids, using full-spectrum hemp products can also lead to a positive test for Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC). THC is inherently present in all varieties of hemp, and while our products contain very low levels (less than 0.3%), there is still a chance that you might fail a drug test. We recommend consulting with a physician before using hemp products if you are worried about failing a drug test.

  • Are there any side effects?

While most people tolerate hemp very well, there are some cases where people can experience side effects. Some people get drowsy when taking CBD. If you are just starting out with CBD it is best to take your first few doses in the evening. Other side effects can include mild nausea or stomach upset, and a small amount of people are allergic to CBD. If you experience any adverse effects from taking CBD, discontinue using it immediately. Consult your physician before taking CBD, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications.

  • Is it safe?

Our products are third party tested to quantify the good (cannabinoids, terpenes) and for absence of the bad (like metals, molds). Every bottle has an up-to-date Certificate of Analysis (COA) ensuring that the concentration in the bottle matches what is on the label. View our COAs or head over to our Testing and Transparency page to learn more.

  • Is CBD right for me?

Many people report benefits from using CBD. However we always recommend that you consult your physician before taking CBD, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications.

  • Is CBD legal?

Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the production and sale of hemp and its extracts, including CBD. Hemp and CBD products, by federal law, cannot contain more than 0.3% THC. All of the hemp that we grow on our farm is federally compliant, as are all of our products.

  • Are there age restrictions to purchasing hemp products?

In general, you must be 18 or older to purchase CBD. However, in some states you must be 21 while other states have no age limit. To make things more confusing, there are various factors that add complexity to the legal age requirement for purchasing CBD. Some states may have stricter laws if you are purchasing a product at a brick and mortar retailer vs. ordering online. Other states have different regulations depending on the type of product that you are purchasing. States are continuing to refine their laws, so it is crucial that you stay informed regarding the laws in your specific state before purchasing CBD products.

Tinctures

  • How does it taste?

All of our products taste slightly different thanks to their unique blend of cannabinoids and terpenes. Generally, our products taste mild or earthy, while some have hints of citrus or baking spices.

  • Why do you use safflower oil?

When choosing a carrier oil for our extracts, we turned to science. Research demonstrates that long-chain fatty acids make fat-loving cannabinoids more available for absorption into our bodies. Safflower oil has long-chain fatty acids making it more bioavailable than MCT/ coconut oil so your body is able to absorb more cannabinoids and terpenes from our high-quality extracts.

  • Can I use your extracts on my skin and face?

Yes! Cannabinoids, terpenes, and safflower oil (which is the base oil for our tinctures) provide a plethora of benefits for your skin including reducing redness and irritation, moisturizing, and by acting as powerful antioxidants and antimicrobials. We suggest adding a few drops into your moisturizer or serum to amplify your morning and nighttime skincare routine.

Our Frosted Kush is an especially great choice if you are looking for a skincare product. This is because the high levels of the terpene bisabolol in this extract have been shown to be great for soothing skin, improving blemishes, and reducing fine lines.

Our oils can also be applied to the skin to treat general aches and pains. We suggest that you rub 1⁄2 to 1 full dropper onto the affected joints or muscles every 4-6 hours as needed.

  • Why are the tinctures different colors?

Acknowledge formulates with different strains of cannabinoid rich hemp. The various cannabinoids, terpenes, and fats from the hemp plant give the tincture its unique color. Most CBD products use distillate or isolate, which are processed after extraction and strip the terpenes and healthy fats from the extract. Since each of our strains are unique, each of our products are unique.

  • How should I store my product?

Keep your products out of direct light, and store them in a cool dark environment. Your medicine cabinet, your bedside table, or in your desk at work are perfect environments for keeping our extracts potent.

  • How do I use your tinctures?

Our extracts can be used in various ways to bring added benefits to all facets of your life.

This is the preferred method for using our CBD tinctures as holding it under your tongue allows for absorption directly to the bloodstream through the mucus membranes, bypassing the digestive tract. This method provides faster and more complete absorption of all the cannabinoids and terpenes in our full-spectrum oils.

You can also add our tinctures to beverages or food as long as there is an oil or fat for the CBD to bind to. Try it in your morning latte, drizzled over ice cream, or blended into a mocktail or smoothie.

Our hemp extracts can also be used topically. Cannabinoids, terpenes, and safflower oil (which is the base oil for our tinctures) provide a plethora of benefits for your skin including reducing redness and irritation, moisturizing, and by acting as powerful antioxidants and antimicrobials. You can add a few drops to your favorite moisturizer or serum to amplify our skincare routine, or use it as a salve to relieve general aches and pains.

  • How much should I take?

CBD affects everybody differently, so finding your optimal serving size is critical to reaping the maximum benefit. We recommend starting “slow and low”. To start, use half of a dropper once to twice daily. After a week, slowly increase the amount you’re using until you achieve the desired effect from the CBD. An optimal serving for most people will be about 1 to 2 droppers (mLs), 1 or 2 times per day.

Each 600mg bottle contains 20mg of CBD per 1mL dropper.

Each 1500mg bottle contains 50mg of CBD per 1mL dropper.

Knowing these amounts, you have the flexibility to increase or decrease your serving size depending on time of day and your desired result.
