What Is the Difference Between CBD and CBDV?

CBDV is short for cannabidivarin, a special compound that’s found in sativa cannabis plants. It’s chemical structure is similar to CBD, doesn’t have any psychoactive effects, and naturally occurs in cannabis and hemp, too. But the main difference between CBD and CBDV is that CBDV has a propyl chain, or propyl group, that CBD doesn’t have.

There hasn’t been a lot of research on CBDV products yet. However, some information suggests that it may have anticonvulsant properties, which may help manage the frequency and severity of seizures. Check out Acknowledge’s CBDV powerhouse strain, Forbidden V, with high levels of both CBDV and CBD.

What Are the Effects of CBDV and CBD?

Like CBD, CBDV cannabinoids may help with inflammation, pain, sleep disorders, anxiety, nausea, and other health conditions. However, what may differentiate CBDV from CBDV is its anticonvulsant properties.

What Are the Effects of CBD vs. CBG?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, and CBG is short for cannabigerol. Both compounds are cannabinoids naturally found in cannabis plants, and they share many similarities.

For example, neither cannabinoids are psychoactive. Neither typically causes any major side effects. Both may help manage things like chronic pain, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder and other conditions.

However, CBD is a “major” cannabinoid, and CBD is a “minor” cannabinoid. This means that there are usually higher levels of CBD in cannabis and lower levels of CBG.

Like CBDV, there’s not a lot of research available about CBG and its effects. However, early studies show that CBD may be particularly helpful for people managing Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.
